For your listening enjoyment as you read:
Mystery Babylon, who is she?
She is not, as is so often speculated currently, America – though many in America are unwittingly helping her rise to power, even as I write these words. Unfortunately, as she is an eternal, prophetic mystery, no amount of speculation will help us to discern her… but the eternal Word of God contains the answer expressly, if we have eyes to see it. In fact discerning the beast from the sea gives us the clear pathway to knowing Mystery Babylon.
Revelation 13 describes two beasts; the beast from the sea, and the beast from the earth. The beast from the sea is a kingdom – specifically, it is THE antichrist kingdom. The beast from the earth is a person – the false prophet or, as John the Apostle calls him elsewhere: THE Antichrist. You will notice that nowhere in the book of Revelation is he called a false ‘Christ,’ or a false ‘Messiah;’ rather, he is called the false ‘prophet.’
Indeed I do not think he will claim to be the Messiah – perhaps ever; I believe that the false Messiah will be the image that he erects to the beast – (though I know the scriptural reasons that many theologians do – I believe that the abomination of desolation means something different than we have supposed (the two links in this paragraph contain insight into what I mean, for new readers.)); if the antichrist claims to be the Messiah, all [well… unfortunately not all, but certainly MOST] of the Christians would immediately reject him. But we know that the antichrist will have intelligence with them that forsake the covenant, and that he will corrupt by flatteries. He will probably claim – at first – to be no more than a prophet; specifically: THE prophet whom Moses declared would come (Deut. 18:5).
Scripturally, there is no way around the fact that many Christians will be deceived, and believe the antichrist – even the very elect will be, if possible. As Daniel declared, he will ‘have intelligence with them that forsake the covenant;’ and he will ‘corrupt by flatteries.’ These statements predicate that antichrist (and the kingdom from which he arises (beast from the sea/ abyss)) will not initially appear to be vicious, violent, or evil.
Indeed, even John’s vision of the beast from the sea revealed it as having the body of a leopard. Scripturally, the leopard is a beast of prey who WAITS PATIENTLY, lurking, and watching for its prey. The leopard being the ‘body’ of the beast indicates that these elements will permeate the whole of its being – the beasts’ over-arching personality. It also has the feet of a bear according to John’s vision, feet indicate its WAY OF GOING, the direction it takes. While the beast will APPEAR calm, patient, non-violent (LEOPARD) it is not gentle, or tender at all, rather diabolical, and it will have the power and prerogative to maul like a bear. (The beast cannot be ISIS, though clearly ISIS is an antichrist organization, which has been growing and destroying rapidly, the tendencies of this terrorist group do not meet the prophecies of Daniel, or the body (i.e. presented character) of the leopard. ISIS is more like a consistently mauling bear. It does not flatter, it destroys viciously, it does not have – quote: ‘intelligence with them that forsake the covenant,’ instead it slaughters indiscriminately those that do not adhere to it. ISIS is, indeed, a vile beast, but it is not the beast from he sea.)
The beast will be subtle, and appear to come peaceably; there will also be terrible tribulation to the saints but this will not be fulfilled by the beast until the abomination of desolation stands where it ought not – the time which Jesus called ‘the last days.’ (Matt 24:15-25) By that time it will be too late for many of those who were brought into the beast’s bosom by flatteries; too many will be undiscerning of the beast, and of the abomination – what it is, for so it is prophesied. Take careful heed to the words of Christ, for He told us all beforehand, and gives clear clues for the discerning to follow. ‘Then let THOSE WHO ARE IN JUDEA flee…‘
The beast also has the mouth of a lion. It will speak with great boasting words, and sound noble, and strong, but its words are to destroy and to devour and blaspheme.
I have come to believe confidently that the beast is the SANHEDRIN ‘who was, and is not [at the time of John’s writing the Revelation (circa 95 A.D.), Jerusalem had been destroyed by the Romans (70 A.D.), as prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 23 & 24] and yet will come [after some 2000 years the Sanhedrin has reconvened as the official religious ruling counsel in Israel] (Rev 17:8). After nearly 2000 years of non-existence, the Sanhedrin has reconvened, and exists again today – not only so, but they have in fact PUT THE POPE ON TRIAL: https://www.breakingisraelnews.com/45320/sanhedrin-pope-francis-godly-judgment-may-prove-very-risky-jewish-world/#pKwFkHIHJsHrSOUa.97
The Sanhedrin has risen from desolation, and is already convening as a world power, and has – astoundingly – threatened the world’s most powerful Christian leader with the wrath of God for not fully endorsing their ownership of Israel. Surprisingly, people in general (even Christians) don’t even seem to know this.
Jesus plainly prophesied to the Sanhedrin that they were to be left desolate until such a time as they received Him, their Messiah (Matt 23:39). John’s prophecy of Revelation declares that the beast rises out of the Abyss – the place of desolation. Indeed, John declared when he saw the beast rise, that he stood quote: ‘upon the sand of the sea,’ – a biblical epithet for the natural Israel. The beast (Sanhedrin) has risen from desolation – it arose in the natural Israel, fulfilling the prophecy of John.
I believe that Israel will come into an era of great prosperity, like under the reign of Solomon, and may become (to westerners) an haven from violent Islam. The Sanhedrin, however, will be enforcing the law, and ordinances of the Old Covenant. I will just add this as a brief reminder: Christians who revert to following the law of Moses have forsaken the covenant of Jesus Christ:
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
But the antichrist will have ‘intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.’ (Dan 11:30) And many Christians already support the Old Covenant statutes, how much more so in days to come as the Sanhedrin grows in power and influence. Already it flatters the Christians who endorse the land of Israel as though it were God’s Kingdom, and the unsaved Jews as though they remained the people of God.
Notice, I did NOT say that the beast is Israel, Judaism, or even the current government of Israel – I said the beast (the antichrist kingdom) is the SANHEDRIN. The Sanhedrin is not now the political ruling party. The Sanhedrin is the religious authority (even in Jesus day there was Herod the king, and there were the ruling counsellors (SANHEDRIN) over the religious order in Israel. Like in the old days he Sanhedrin will enforce the statutes of the Old Covenant, and the law of Moses. THE SANHEDRIN (again, not the Jews, or the political nation of Israel) already is an antichrist authority – it is under the rigid commandments of the law of Moses, and this is the only law they hold as authoritative. They have rejected the Christ, and are presently, actively waiting for A DIFFERENT CHRIST – that is: an antichrist. The Sanhedrin will, no doubt, take eventual power in Israel, and they already are taking more, and more power.
In 1948 Israel was granted national status, and large populations of genealogical Jews have moved into the land that for some time has been called ‘Palestine.’ From that time a strong Jewish state has risen to become modern day Israel. Now that the genealogical Jews have a centrally gathered nation, John’s prophecy of standing upon the ‘sand of the sea’ could be fulfilled; so also could be the rising of an ancient order which existed from the time of Moses until 70 A.D., existed not for nearly 2000 years, and has now, again come into being in our lifetime (‘was, and is not, and yet will come’).
Now we come to this dilemma: is the Sanhedrin Truly the antichrist kingdom?
As I began contemplating this thought for myself, I began reading the passages in depth that pertained to this thought. We must plainly establish that Jewish people are not evil, but any religion which denies that Jesus is Messiah (Messiah is the Hebrew word for ‘The Anointed One.’ it is synonymous with the Greek word ‘Christos’ – Christ. Christ, and Messiah mean the same thing, two different languages of origin.) – any religion denying Jesus is Christ, or Messiah – is antichrist; it denies the Father, and the Son (1 John 2:22 & 23).
Jews are not evil – denying God IS evil. The Sanhedrin has not arisen as an order which proclaims Jesus Christ, until it does so it IS – by biblical definition – an antichrist order. This is not too out of the ordinary, as every religion that denies that Jesus is Christ, also, is antichrist. Yet for the Sanhedrin there is a distinguishing factor – Jesus Christ prophesied that the Sanhedrin would remain desolate UNTIL they received the testimony of the Messiah, and declare: “Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord.” (Matt 23:38 & 39) Here He speaks of receiving the Messiah, just as He told the Sanhedrin counselor Nicodemus that he must be born again (John 3:1-21).
It is evident that Jesus spoke the prophecy of Matthew 23 to the SANHEDRIN, and not to all the Jews, because He began His prophecy with these words: “The scribes and Pharisees SIT IN MOSES’ SEAT.” (Matt 23:2) This makes evident that He spoke specifically about the Sanhedrin order, because it was officially started by God to set elders among the Jews in the place of Moses in order to help him bear the burden of judging the whole nation. In Numbers 11, 70 elders among the Jews were given an impartation of the ANOINTING that was upon Moses; they were made prophets by this impartation of the Spirit of God. From that time the Sanhedrin counsel existed in Israel to judge the Jews IN MOSES’ SEAT.
The Jews are not evil, but Jesus declared that the Sanhedrin (the judges in the seat of Moses) had rejected the anointing that their predecessors had been entrusted with. Matthew 23 is an hard prophecy to read, because it is of judgment, but remember, the judgment pronounced is not upon the Jewish people as a whole, but upon the scribes and Pharisees who sat in the seat of Moses (Sanhedrin) (and upon the city of Jerusalem, bjt we wil get to that shortly.) According to His Word, the Sanhedrin was to fall, and be left DESOLATE. This judgment was to remain upon them until they accepted their Messiah (Matt 23:38 & 39).
As Jesus prophecy pertained to the Sanhedrin – the religious ruling council of the Jews – He also prophesied/ pronounced judgment upon the city from which the Sanhedrin ruled: JERUSALEM. Now, again, it must be noted in the context that Jesus is not pronouncing judgment upon the Jews – but He IS pronouncing judgment upon the ruling council, which fact is confirmed by His including the city of Jerusalem in His prophecy. He declares that Jerusalem is the city which stoned the prophets. Why? Because it was the city in which, and from 3whence the Sanhedrin pronounced judgment upon the prophets and had them slain – Jesus equated their martyrdom with murder, and stated that ALL THE RIGHTEOUS BLOOD SHED UPON THE EARTH WOULD BE REQUIRED AT THE HAND OF quote: “this generation” (v.36) what generation? The same generation He called vipers, damned to hell (v.33) – THE SANHEDRIN.
It was not the entire body of the Jewish nation, or people – but the judges in Israel had become corrupt, thus the place from which they judged became – literally damnable (and WAS damned (cursed) in the passage by Jesus).
“How oft I would have gathered thee…” (Matt 23:37) Jesus yearned for the Sanhedrin to follow after Him, their God, and Messiah – but they would not. Instead they added this transgression to them all, that they martyred the Messiah of God.
Jerusalem was, indeed, the city which stoned the prophets for the city is so directly related to the Sanhedrin which ruled it! So now, we come to the prophesied city of Babylon. What was (or rather is/ will be) the key iniquity of MYSTERY BABYLON?
Rev 18:24 ‘…in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of ALL that were slain upon the earth.‘
Does this thought sound familiar? It should, Jesus prophesied these words to the Sanhedrin, and Jerusalem, its seat:
Matt 23:34 & 35 ‘Behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them ye shall scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city: THAT UPON YOU MAY COME ALL THE RIGHTEOUS BLOOD SHED UPON EARTH, from the blood of rihteous Abel unto he blood of Zecheriah son of Barachiah, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.’
According to Jesus, Jerusalem is responsible for the shed blood of all righteous people! According to John’s vision, the blood of all righteous martyrs is held to the account of the Babylon to come. Is this not a blaring clue – and evidence – of the mysterious city of blood?
The natural Jerusalem in Palestinian Israel IS the Mystery Babylon.
Let’s go through what we know of this city, and see if this holds True. The prophecies regarding the Mystery City are mainly within Revelation 17, and 18 (though there are also prophecies from Ezekiel, and in a few other places about it).
1) Babylon is said to sit on a multitude of waters (Rev 17:1). This prophecy, actually, is speaking of those who will be deceived, and follow the beast, and the whore; or, rather a multitude that she sits upon (17:15). Remember Moses’ seat? Sitting upon the multitude means she is judge, or ruler over them. These are those who follow her willingly, or who are oppressed by her.
Now, it is interesting to note that even in the prophetic symbolisms used by John in the book of Revelation, there are comparables between the beast’s kingdom, and the kingdom of Jesus Christ. For example, in the beginning of the book, Jesus is called He Who was, and is, and is to come (Rev 1:4). The angel described the beast from the sea (or the antichrist kingdom) as he who was, and is not, and yet will be (Rev 17:8) – the nearly identical language is no coincidence. Why? The antichrist will have all the correct outward symbolisms to appear to be the Anointed One (can you see how readily this may take place, and how quick Christians would be to accept these external forms according to this revelation that the beast is he Jewish Sanhedrin?).
In like manner with the linguistic comparison of Christ and the beast (‘was & is…’), the whore sitting upon peoples, and multitudes and nations and tongues’ is a direct comparison to the CHURCH, as it is previously described in the book of Revelation (Rev 17:9).
I am sorry to say that the antichrist kingdom’s focus audience will be those taken from the True church universal. I see a clear relation – it is not only Western Christians who believe that God prefers Jews, and the nation of Israel above all other people on earth – this erroneous doctrine seems to permeate the church worldwide! And so it will be that not only some from the West, or East (or North, or South) will be deceived on this major issue, but people from every nation, language and tongue – so the whore will sit upon many waters (17:15).
Now that is the understanding, but taken as a geographic prophecy (as some believe this passage – at least in part – implies: Jerusalem fits the bill. Called the city of many springs, a multitude of freshwater springs are found in Jerusalem.
2) Babylon is said to sit upon seven mountains (Rev 17:9). The seven heads of the beast are given two interpretations by the angel speaking with John in Rev 17. The heads are seven mountains, and the heads are seven kings. The geographic interpretation of the seven mountains has led many theologians to believe that Babylon is Rome, which – like the literal Babylon of Shinar – is built upon seven literal mountains.
But what other famous biblical city is built upon seven mountains? If you guessed Jerusalem, you guessed correctly. JERUSALEM IS BUILT UPON SEVEN MOUNTAINS, a few of them are mentioned in scripture (Zion, & the Mount of Olives, for example). That means that Jerusalem also meets the criteria to fulfill this prophecy geographically.
3) Among Babylon’s chief offenses is slavery (Rev 18:13). Now here is one of the points which helped to convince me of the Truth of this revelation. I realized that if Jerusalem was, indeed, Mystery Babylon of Revelation that Israel would at some point in the future have a major slave trade issue (whether the slave trade is ‘endorsed’ by the government or not makes very little difference – yet slaves are to be a chief merchandise of Mystery Babylon according to Rev 18:3). Because I had this realization, I checked to see what the slave state was like in Israel today – never having heard anything from man (to my knowledge) on this subject. What I found gave confirmation to this revelation – Israel TODAY has a larger active slave trade than even most Islamic nations surrounding it geographically; it has been rated by the UN as being as bad or worse than many third world nations in human sex trafficking alone:
4) Sorcery – Ezek 8:17
Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, LO, THEY PUT THE BRANCH TO THEIR NOSE.
One of the great sins, and abominations of Babylon is SORCERY:
And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for BY THY SORCERIES WERE ALL NATIONS DECEIVED.
Now many Zionist Christians would assume that this could never be the case for Jerusalem for, do not the Jews worship YHWH, who forbids witchcraft? In fact, the Greek word here for sorcery is:
pharmakeia (far-mak-i’-ah); medication (“pharmacy”), i.e. (by extension) magic (literally or figuratively)
Yes, this word ‘sorcery’ is the Greek word from which we derive the word ‘Pharmacy.’ Sorcery is not what we think of it as in modern popular fiction – it has to do with the mixing of potions, and herbs for mind altering effects. In Ezekiel’s day, the city of Jerusalem was not only violent, and abominable in their religious practices – they were also practitioners of sorcery: ‘…LO, THEY PUT THE BRANCH TO THEIR NOSE.’ Like other religious groups they were using drugs in order to have spiritual experiences.
Revelation 18:23 declares that Mystery Babylon will deceive the nations by its sorceries (PHARMAKEIA) – DRUGS!!!!!
TODAY ISRAEL IS THE WORLD’S LEADING RESEARCHER IN CANNIBAS, AND CANNIBAS PRODUCTS. They have been doing extensive research with THC (the mind altering chemical found in marijuana (SAY: “SORCERY”) since the 1960s. Doubt it? All of the leading marijuana researchers and distributers are amazed at Israel’s understanding of the drug. Israel leads the industry.
TODAY, the whole world is amazed by their by their sorceries.
In fact, today Israel is not only leading in the medical marijuana field only, but also in other fields of medicine, notably STEM CELL RESEARCH. While the abortion rate is lower than Europe’s (some studies show that 1/3rd of pregnancies in Europe end in abortion) – the abortion policy in Israel has become incredibly liberal:
(I want to note here that I really have no axe to grind with regard to Israel’s political policies, but most Christians seem to see the nation through rose colored glasses, and ignore many unfortunate things which they would protest in their own nations.)
The Two Witnesses
According to Revelation 11, in the last days God will send not one, but TWO prophets of power. These will not merely be prophets, they are the two olive trees, and the two lampstands of God. They will have power to shut up the sky of rain, as Elijah had. They will have power to smite the earth with every plague, as Moses had (Rev 11:6). These proohets are so powerful that fire comes from their mouths and consumes their enemies (11:5).
These will be the greatest, final testimony in the earth in the last days. Yet, at the end of their ministry, they will be killed by beast.
WHERE ARE THEY KILLED BY THE BEAST? The bible tells where the two witnesses will be killed. This is essential to know, because if the beast has power in this place to martyr two of the greatest prophets to ever live, it will demonstrate WHERE the beast’s seat of power to destroy is, won’t it?
The bible declares that the city where the two prophets are killed is figuratively called ‘SODOM’ – a city of vile oppression, where the male inhabitants unanimously attempted to rape two angels to death; the city where these prophets are killed is figuratively called Sodom. The city where the two prophets are killed is also figuratively called Egypt – the nation which enslaved the people of God, and murdered their infant children.
To be figuratively likened with these places BY GOD, the city must indeed, be a vile place, musn’t it?
Revelation 11:8 tells us the very city of these prophets’ martyrdom: ‘And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, WHERE ALSO OUR LORD WAS CRUCIFIED.’
What city was Jesus martyred in? !JERUSALEM!
The two prophets of Revelation will be killed in the city where the Beast has its seat of power, the ancient earthly city of JERUSALEM (so no, I don’t think its an especially good idea for Donald Trump to move the American embassy there. I guess on a positive note, helping Jerusalem to become a world power once again, as in the days of Solomon will be fulfilling he prophecies of Revelation, and the antichrist’s rise. I just don’t hink on the final judgment that we are really going to want to answer for enabling the beast – maybe someone should let Trump know. If God gives me audience before kings, maybe I’ll have the chance to tell him (Luke 21:12) – although it may be too late to repent the policy by that point. And there’ my political commentary for this post.)
Should Lot move to Sodom? But that is a parable for what many well meaning Christians (like Lot) will do in the last days. Shall we align ourselves with Sodom politically? Should we wittingly move to Egypt (remember, Joseph (MESSIAH) doesn’t live there anymore)?
But God has issued an eternal warning to His people concerning Jerusalem. This word is to all Zionist Christians in these later days, who are decieved into believing that the Jews who have rejected the Messiah are anointed anyways; a word to all Christians who want to support THE antichrist city:
“COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE , THAT YE BE NOT PARTAKERS OF HER SINS, AND THAT YE RECEIVE NOT OF HER PLAGUES.” Rev 18:4
Interesting, point which I will correlate here – ‘that ye recieve not of her plagues.’ As I mentioned, the two witnesses, are two prophets which power to smite the earth with plagues (Rev 11:6).
This, then is how the events play out: the prophets will declare the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Just as the prophets of old they will declare the one and only Way to God: Jesus Christ; they will be used of God to rebuke the religious order, and declare the Truth about the antichrist, warning and admonishing the people to keep their garments white, not by works of the Law, but by the precious blood of the spotless Lamb. They will preach the everlasting Gospel, and shew that, by works of the law, and by natural offspring will no flesh be justified, but that each tree must bring forth fruit meet for repentance.
And just like the prophets of old, and our Lord, Himself, the Sanhedrin (beast from the sea) will try them, and put them to death (Matt 23:34 & 35) IN JERUSALEM. Their executed bodies would remain in the streets for three days, while the people celebrate the death of these anointed men (while this thought has seemed too barbaric to seem fathomable to most Westerners, I think with the many filmed public executions we have seen from the middle east that such a sight seems more plausible by the day in the modern times). After three days the two witnesses will be raised again, and ascend to heaven in the plain view of the people as a sign to the nations that they serve the True Messiah, the Living God. Then God will strike that wretched city of Babylon, called Sodom, and Egypt: with an earthquake so powerful that a tenth of the city will be destroyed (Rev 11:13), and seven thousand killed.
Jesus said that when the abomination of desolation is erected, that those who are in Judea (that’s where Jerusalem is) ought to FLEE (Matt 24:15 & 16). Why, then, contrary to Messiah’s warning would we Christians think Israel will be a safe haven from the persecution of the antichrist? Be warned brothers and sisters. (I’m not sharing this revelation because of all of the friends I will make, but to help as many as will listen to escape the wrath to come.)
Now I bring again this prophecy of Mystery Babylon (remember the two witnesses are killed in Jerusalem (which is verified in scripture (Rev 11:8)); and according to my revelation of the beast, which no man taught me, they are executed by the Sanhedrin): Rev 18:24 ‘In her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.’
Once again, I go back to Jesus. He plainly declared judgment upon Jerusalem, and the Sanhedrin, and specifically proclaimed that THEY were responsible for ALL RIGHTOUS BLOOD EVER SHED UPON THE EARTH FROM BEGINING TO END. Quote:
‘That upon YOU [He is speaking to the Sanhedrin, and the city of Jerusalem, where they rule] may come ALL THE RIGHTEOUS BLOOD SHED UPON THE EARTH, FROM THE BLOOD OF ABEL [the first martyr ever to live] unto the blood of Zacharias son of Berechias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Verily [that is, ‘Truly’] I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee…’ (Matt 23:35-37)
Jesus plainly declared that all blood of righteous people is counted against the city of Jerusalem. As He cursed the fig tree, and it withered, so also He cursed Jerusalem, and declared it (along with the Sanhedrin) would be left desolate. But was this a permanent judgment? Could it ever change? Jesus left only one condition under which this curse would EVER be lifted:
‘Ye shall not see me henceforth, till you say, blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord.’ Matt 23:39
When Jerusalem forsakes the Old Covenant, and follows Jesus, the True Messiah – then, and only then will this curse of desolation be lifted.
COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE
Take heed the prophecy, for I believe this Word was eternally set in place as a warning to Zionist Christians: “COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE , THAT YE BE NOT PARTAKERS OF HER SINS, AND THAT YE RECEIVE NOT OF HER PLAGUES.” Rev 18:4
As it is written: ‘Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.’ (Rev 1:3)
